Dear Sawubona Life community,
In isiZulu, Sawubona means “I see you.” It is more than a greeting. It is a recognition of someone’s presence, humanity, story, and becoming.
Today, during National Black Business Month, we want to turn that recognition toward you.
We see the person who placed the first order. We see the person who shared our launch post. We see the person who clicked a link, left a kind word, told a friend, tagged us in a photo, opened an email, read a blog, or paused long enough to learn what Sawubona Life was about.
We see you.
And because you saw us, we are here.

MARCH 4, 2026: THE BEGINNING OF A SHARED STORY
Sawubona Life officially launched on March 4, 2026.
At the time, we had a vision, a collection of meaningful designs, and a deep desire to create clothing that felt like more than clothing. We wanted to make affirmation apparel for intentional living: pieces that could help someone remember their value in the middle of a demanding day.
But a vision is still a vision until people choose to participate in it.
That is what you did.
You gave the words a life beyond the fabric. You allowed an affirmation to travel from our studio to your home, your classroom, your office, your family gathering, your errands, your healing journey, and your everyday becoming.
When someone wears I SHOULD BE CELEBRATED NOT TOLERATED, that message no longer belongs only to Sawubona Life. It belongs to the person who needed to see it. It belongs to the friend who received it as a gift. It belongs to the stranger who read it in passing and remembered that their presence matters, too. That is the power of community.
A tee can carry a message, but people carry the movement.
